The effectiveness and fairness of CAS are examined in this paper, considering whether1 CAS produces predictable and balanced results for all stakeholders. Employing a doctrinal and qualitative case study methodology, the research examines relevant literature, conducts analyses of major CAS decisions, and considers stakeholder opinion. Findings are that although CAS has established a consistent system of dispute settlement, issues persist with regards to arbitrator impartiality, athlete access, and procedural fairness.
